I suspect that, like me, many people would like to be able to orient R1b relatives or other members of surname projects. It is now feasible to orient those individuals in the upper levels of the phylogenetic tree with a new Yseq R1b orientation panel that can be interdigitated with a second downstream panel to get from R1b to a terminal SNP in two stages, at a reasonable price.
Novel aspects of the panel include the addition of DF99 as a sixth member at the level of L21 and its brothers and the testing for L51 in the first round, since two main branches split off of this SNP. I am highly impressed with this panel and already have plans to use it and to recommend its use.
