I have ordered DF 17 from YSEQ hoping for an honest test from them and not just a case when a technician says, "You cannot possibly be positive for this because you are known negative for Z196!" Most of the folks who tested positive so far for DF 17 did not bother to test Z274, Z195 or Z196 and simply matched the known STR modal for DF 17. As of this date, Feb., 2014, the ISOGG list STILL shows DF17 as under DF 27 and not dependent on Z195/196. Since it is not included in the Deep Clade, nat geo or Chromo 2 testing very little testing has been done by DF 17** postive folks who are negative for all other downstream of DF 27. I take the contrary view that this MUST be positive for me! as it is the last one down there!!!
